Australia have added batsman Phil Jaques to their squad for the one-day series in New Zealand because of concerns over Michael Clarke's hip. Clarke, who is vice-captain for the three-match series starting on Friday in Wellington, suffered soreness during the tri-series finals against England.
"Scans have cleared him of anything major and he will still travel as planned," physio Alex Kountouris said.
"If the soreness continues to improve he will play a role during the series."
Mike Hussey was named captain for the series in the absence of Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist, who were rested ahead of the World Cup.
The Wellington match will be followed by games in Auckland on Sunday and Hamilton on 20 February.
