If Australia feel they need to get five bowlers in the side, then Symonds could play the odd Test this time. He has a fine record in one-day internationals but hasn't set the world alight in Test matches and is not somebody England will be too afraid of. His explosive batting means he can, nonetheless, be dangerous. That will be his main threat - his bowling certainly shouldn't worry England.
