Acting India captain Virender Sehwag was full of praise for seamer Rudra Pratap Singh, after his 4-35 inspired a seven-wicket win against Sri Lanka. "RP is a very talented bowler," Sehwag said of the 19-year-old left-armer, who won the man-of-the-match award.
"His speciality is that he can bring the ball back into the right-handers and move it away from them as well."
Of his captaincy Sehwag said: "I learnt a lot from the Ahmedabad game and made made sure I didn't repeat my mistakes."
Singh made his international debut in Harare in September and observed: "There was a lot more swing for me there. Here I had to concentrate on my length."
He has been guided by experienced pace colleague Irfan Pathan and said: "He's advised me on bowling in different situations."
Sri Lanka skipper Marvan Atapattu admitted his team had been below par once again.
"To get just 196 on this wicket was unacceptable," he said.
"It's just a matter of being consistent. All our batsmen have the experience to get big scores but we let ourselves down.
"When you are down in a long series it becomes very difficult to come back. We should approach it game by game and try and perform, we'd like to end the tour on a winning note."
Atapattu explained that Muttiah Muralitharan was not risked after tweaking his hamstring in the previous match in Ahmedabad.
"With the amount the pitch was turning his presence could have crucial, but 196 was just not enough."
