Gillespie relishes Aussie spirit

Glenn McGrath congratulates fast-bowling colleague Gillespie
Australian paceman Jason Gillespie said his side were "in a strong position" after three days of the Nagpur Test.

Gillespie took 5-56 as India managed just 185 in their first innings. Australia are 202-3 and have already amassed an overall lead of 415.

"The beauty of this side is that it does not matter who gets the wickets," said Gillespie who moved to eighth in the all-time Australian list.

India's Rahul Dravid said: "The batsmen have to stand up and be counted."

Dravid refused to concede his team were heading for the loss that would give Australia their first series win in India since the 1960s.

He said his team's task was "difficult, but not impossible."

Gillespie, who moved ahead of old-time leg-spinner Clarrie Grimmett in the Australian wicket-taking tables with 218 victims, added: "I am not going to speculate what sort of target we will set the Indians.

"We will just keep batting and see how it goes.

"The important thing is that we are in a strong position and hopefully we can go on and complete the job."
