Another player who doesn't 'hog' the headlines but who has enjoyed a huge renaissance over the past 12 months.

He's a genuine new-ball outswing bowler who can bowl an inswinger as well for variation.

But he's also a real workhorse who bowls a hell of a lot of overs.

His accuracy and length are features of his bowling that have become metronomic.

He's incredibly reliable and has been picking up a stack of Test wickets to show for it.

There are guys in teams that the press like to follow around and write features about, and there are others, like Hoggard, who do their work quietly and just get on with the job.

He was in the spotlight a bit against South Africa last winter - which he deserved - but generally he's quite happy to sit back and be the unglamorous one out of the four quicks.
