A glorious day at Lord's and a packed house is hoping to see Jonathan Trott and Stuart Broad extend their record-breaking eighth-wicket stand, as England start day three on 346-7
The England batsmen add three runs to their overnight stand to break the 79-year-old England record for eighth-wicket partnerships and are closing in on the world Test record of 313
The runs keep on coming and coming. Trott and Broad now break the world Test record for eighth-wicket stands, which was held by Saqlain Mushtaq and Wasim Akram
Broad, who completed his maiden first-class century on Friday, hits a series of elegant boundaries to bring up his 150 and overtakes his father Chris' highest-Test score when he passes 162
But after a referral the left-hander is given out lbw to Saeed Ajmal for 169 and he will miss out on beating New Zealander's Ian Smith record score of 173 for a Test number nine
Trott's marathon innings finally comes to an end on 184 and England are all out for 446 - an incredible effort after they were 102-7 at one point
Lily Allen, pop star, keen cricket fan and Test Match Special cake-maker, and her boyfriend Sam Cooper seem to be enjoying their day out at Lord's
Broad's fantastic match just gets better and better - he has Yasir Hameed caught at second slip by Graeme Swann to claim his 95th Test wicket and Pakistan are 9-1
At the other end, James Anderson swings and seams the ball away from a baffled Imran Farhat and finds an edge, which wicketkeeper Matt Prior takes to reduce Pakistan to 9-2
Broad does it again moments later, this time bowling the experienced Yousuf Mohammad when the 36-year-old plays down the wrong line and misses the ball
Azhar Ali (above) and skipper Salman Butt manages to get Pakistan through to tea without any further wickets falling, but the tourists are struggling on 46-3, still some 400 runs behind England's first-innings total
Azhar has concerns about the sightscreen, complaining to umpire Tony Hill that he cannot see the release of the ball when the 6ft 7in Steve Finn is bowling at the Nursery End
And Finn bowls Umar Akmal from the final delivery of the 28th over with a brutal yorker, although the dashing batsman reacts as if he only saw the ball in the final milliseconds before crashing into his stumps
Finn collects his second wicket of the day as Mohammad Amir fails to sight a full-toss on leg stump. Umpire Hill turned down the lbw appeal, but England successfully overturned the decision on referral
Pakistan's miserable second innings is brought to a close on 74, the second lowest total in their Test history against England, when Mohammad Asif is caught and bowled by Graeme Swann, who collects his fourth wicket
England, leading by 372, enforce the follow-on and continue their wicket-taking run with Broad and Anderson both taking early wickets to reduce the tourists to 9-2
And veteran Mohammad Yousuf falls to the very last ball of the day as he finds Jonathan Trott at deep square leg, moments before rain ends play with Pakistan on the point of capitulation and humiliation at 41-4
