England bring in Ajmal Shahzad for the second one-day international against Bangladesh and he takes the early wicket of the tourists' danger man Tamim Iqbal thanks to a fine Craig Kieswetter catch
Imrul Kayes then survives two dropped catches from Shahzad to build Bangladesh's total on a cloudy morning in Bristol - it's a match the tourists must win to have a chance of winning the three-match series
England are rather hunting in vain for inspiration, rocked by the news that Ian Bell is in hospital for tests after landing awkwardly in the field and requiring X-rays on his left foot
An 83-run partnership in 16.4 overs for the third wicket between Kayes and Jahurul Islam finally comes to an end when Shahzad picks up an important wicket in his second over, Jahurul caught behind
England begin to assert some more control as Shakib Al Hasan is bowled behind his legs by Paul Collingwood attempting an injudicious scooped sweep shot, and Bangladesh are 149-4 in the 31st over
England celebrate the run-out of Mohammad Ashraful en route to restricting their opponents to 236-7, and despite not being able to count on the services of Bell, it is a score they should feel comfortable about passing
England begin the chase in swashbuckling mode, making 43 for no loss off the first seven overs despite some poor running between Kieswetter (16 from 11 balls) and Andrew Strauss (27, taking the majority of the strike)
Strauss in particular displays some extravagant strokes to make the most of the short and straight boundaries at Bristol including a massive six straight back past slow left-armer Abdur Razzak
Having survived a close run-out appeal, the England captain is soon heading to the pavilion after trying one flash of his bat too many with third man brought up, caught Jahurul Islam, bowled Rubel Hossain
Nine balls later Rubel has the other England opener walking off, also caught by Jahurul, and Bangladesh are unlucky not to have a third wicket from the same combination off the first ball to Collingwood
These things even themselves out, perhaps, as Collingwood is soon given out lbw off Razzak, despite an inside edge, having done nothing much of note from 24 balls faced bar one six over midwicket
Eoin Morgan soon follows Collingwood, absolutely plum lbw from a straight ball from Razzak, and, with two of England's most-capable limited-overs batsmen gone, their run rate declines to 113 from 25 overs
With the score drying up, the Bangladesh attack have little to do but ensure they offer nothing to the batsmen, wait for Michael Yardy to grow impatient and watch him miss a swing at a low and straight Shakib delivery
The prospect of actually winning the game seems to make Bangladesh nervous, giving away several runs with fielding mistakes and an easy six to Luke Wright while Jonathan Trott prods and tickles his way to a cool 50
Both teams seem determined not to win as Wright (15), then Shahzad (5), and eventually Broad (21) all fall playing unnecessary shots, as Trott moves on to 75
When Jimmy Anderson is out off the last ball of the penultimate over it leaves England with 10 to make from the last six balls and Bell, returned from hospital, limps out to the wicket with a broken foot and a runner
Bell doesn't even face a ball before Trott, like so many in this innings have done, slashes at a nothing delivery and is caught behind to seal Bangladesh's first win over England in 21 attempts and delight Shaiful Islam
