Broad took 2-28 in four overs against Diamond Eagles |
Scans on seamer Stuart Broad's right shoulder showed no serious damage but he will miss at least two of England's tour matches in South Africa. Broad, 23, sustained the injury while fielding in Friday's win against Diamond Eagles in Bloemfontein. He will miss Sunday's match against Warriors in Kimberley and the game against South Africa A on Tuesday. Meanwhile, pace bowler Graham Onions faces a fitness test on his lower back before Sunday's game. Broad will receive treatment in the hope of returning for the two Twenty20 internationals from 13 November. The Nottinghamshire star has been a key member of the England squad in all forms of the game over the past two years and helped them regain the Ashes with victory over Australia last summer. | 606: DEBATE |
His importance has been magnified by the retirement from Test cricket of all-rounder Andrew Flintoff, who is also ruled out of England's one-day and Twenty20 squads in South Africa through injury. England's tour consists of two Twenty20 internationals, five one-day internationals and four Test matches.
