Bangladesh cricket chiefs have agreed in principle to face England in the first day-night Test match next year.

Bangladesh play two Tests in England in May and June 2010, one of which the England and Wales Cricket Board has proposed as a day-night game.

Headingley has already been assigned one of the Tests with Lord's a potential venue for the second.

The day-night concept has yet to receive official approval from the International Cricket Committee (ICC).

The sport's administrators have a number of concerns, primarily over what colour ball to use.

A white ball is used during day-night one-day internationals but this is not feasible when players are wearing white as they would for a Test match, whilst pink and orange balls have been trialled but are considered unfit for purpose.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have extended the contract of their Australian cricket coach Jamie Siddons until the 2011 World Cup.

Siddons joined Bangladesh in November 2007, replacing his compatriot Dav Whatmore.

The BCB also announced pace bowler Mashrafe Mortaza and all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan have been retained as captain and vice-captain of the national team for a five-match one-day series against Zimbabwe starting in October.
