Flintoff sustained his injury playing for the Super Kings in South Africa

Andrew Flintoff has lost his battle to be fit for England's World Twenty20 campaign after failing to recover from surgery on his right knee.

The 31-year-old was named in the 15-man squad despite having recently had surgery on an injury picked up playing in the Indian Premier League.
