The Sussex wicketkeeper is looking for his shots early on the second day Stuart Broad is the second to fall. Jerome Taylor steams in and the Englishman squirts it to Sulieman Benn at gully The Windies are piling on the pressure and are delighted to see the back of Broad. It's Taylor's second wicket in the innings Powell enjoys a lively second day. After causing Flintoff's downfall, Powell torments the tail-end with some useful pace Prior is dominating but after an entertaining 64 he whacks one into Benn's bucket hands. Eight wickets down and England are wobbling Ryan Sidebottom (above) and Steve Harmison hang in there as England stumble to 311-8. It's time to tuck into the lunchtime sarnies Harmison couldn't last forever and is out LBW to Taylor. Umpire Kuertzen's finger is up again after the referral. It's all down to Monty England are all out for 318 so it's time for Flintoff to get hold of the ball. He looks in fierce mood and fires in a number of bouncers The new England captain Andrew Strauss gets a taste of setting the field with Chris Gayle and Devon Smith looking for early runs It's the perfect start for England. Flintoff gets Smith dancing across a straight one and after another referral the finger comes up for LBW Harmison is close. Ramnaresh Sarwan is leg before but it's referred upstairs. Everybody has time to have a cuppa but it's not out Chris Gayle takes evasive action from another Freddie special as the opener races to 33 off 37 balls. Tea-time with the Windies on 63-1 Gayle settles down to a few defensive shots after looking intent on blasting Monty out of the ground after tea. His 50 comes in 70 balls Sarwan (above) scores at a slower rate than Gayle but he grabs his half century as the Windies look untroubled after the tea interval Gayle and Sarwan were dominant in the final session as the West Indies finish the day 158 runs shy of England's first innings total
