England seamer Stuart Broad praised the tourists for limiting India's lead on day four of the second Test and called for another big effort on day five.

India carried a 151-run lead into the second innings but added just 134 in 50 overs for the loss of four wickets.

"We are delighted to have picked up four wickets and to have kept the runs down," Broad told BBC Radio 5 Live.

"If we can keep bowling tomorrow morning like we did today it will take a lot of pressure off of our batsmen."

England, who lost Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff before stumps of Sunday, made a terrible start to day four as their final four wickets fell for just 20 runs.

But three India wickets for 47 runs between lunch and tea put them back in contention.

And although Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh batted India back into control, England will go in search of early wickets on day five.

"To keep them to 134 in 50 overs was a great effort. But we've got to come back hard and be very strong tomorrow.

"We know that in Test cricket the game can get away from you in one session and we don't want to be batting 80 overs tomorrow under pressure."

With Gambhir and Yuvraj at the crease and Mahendra Dhoni and Harbhajan Singh still to come, India will feel confident of batting England out of the match before attempting to bowl England out.

"They like to play their shots and it's quite a quick scoring ground but the way the lads bowled and fielded was a great credit to us," he said.

"They are in the driving seat after the way they've played in the last couple of days but we'll keep our heads high, we'll keep fighting as we always do and maybe a window (of opportunity) will be created at some stage.

"It's a patience game for us tomorrow. We batted poorly this morning but that gives us hope that we can take early wickets tomorrow morning on this pitch."
