Flintoff had a certain lbw turned down against Kallis before dismissing him
Andrew Flintoff said England must continue their aggressive bowling display on Friday in the third Test against South Africa at Edgbaston.
The all-rounder finished with 4-68, including two crucial late wickets, to leave the tourists at 256-6 at stumps.
"Friday's session is a huge session in the context of this match and the series," Flintoff told BBC Sport.
"We're back in this game and we are desperate to finish off their innings in the morning."
The undoubted highlight of the second day was an enthralling tussle between Flintoff and Jacques Kallis in the final session.
Kallis had looked set for a three-figure score before he was given a memorable working over by the Lancashire all-rounder, who had a cast-iron lbw decision turned down by umpire Aleem Dar.
But Flintoff earned his revenge in his next over, uprooting Kallis' off stump with an absolute brute of an out-swinging yorker.
"Sometimes when you bowl at the best players - and Jacques is definitely one of those - it brings out the best in you," said Flintoff, who took his 200th Test wicket when he removed Neil McKenzie for 72.
"You want to get the best players out, Jacques is right up there with Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara.
"I have used the yorker a lot in one-day internationals and Twenty20s and I thought I'd try it today."
Kallis admitted he had struggled to see Flintoff's yorkers because of a troublesome window above the Pavilion End sightscreen.
"The light wasn't too bad but the ball was coming out of a dark window," said Kallis. "Hopefully common sense will prevail and they can get a sheet over the windows.
"You don't want tall bowlers bowling yorkers with the batters struggling."
Kallis had scored just 24 in his previous three innings against England, but the all-rounder was back to his imperious best with 64 from 114 balls.
He said: "I don't feel out of nick. I got some runs early on in the tour at Somerset and against Bangladesh A, it's just a matter of getting in and carrying on.
"We want to get a 100-plus lead and England will come hard at us on Friday.
"If our lower order can absorb some pressure and get us a lead, it could be invaluable."
