Vaughan has not lost a home series as captain |
England coach Peter Moores has again defended keeper Matt Prior, who dropped a second catch on day two of the third Test, dominated by India at The Oval. Prior, who put down Sachin Tendulkar on Thursday, gave VVS Laxman a let-off on 41 when he dived in front of slip.
"He's had a tough day at the office but I thought he kept pretty well. It was unfortunate he dropped that catch but his footwork was better," said Moores.
"We've all seen keepers drop chances - the key is how you bounce back."

England closed day two 640 behind India at 24-1 and now face a series defeat having dominated the first match at Lord's, where they were one wicket from victory when bad light ended play.
"Trent Bridge is well documented now," Moores lamented.
"We lost a very important toss and India bowled very well to put us under a lot of pressure that culminated in a win.
"Here they won a good toss again and they have batted very well.
"We couldn't at any stage get a clutch of wickets together to get through them.

"We were hoping to get them out for 400-450 and we'd have had a good chance."
To add to England's problems, they now have a concern over seamer Ryan Sidebottom.
"Ryan has a bit of pain in his side. We're not sure if it's coming from his back or a muscle injury so he's gone for a scan and we'll take it from there," Moores explained.
