 Kumble's hundred came from 193 deliveries |
Anil Kumble backed himself to finish England off with the ball after scoring his maiden Test hundred on day two of the third Test at The Oval. Kumble made 110 not out in India's massive total of 664 all out before England were reduced to 24-1.
"It's something very special to get a Test hundred, especially at The Oval," said the former Surrey player.
"All those runs will help to put pressure on the batsmen and if I bowl like I can we have a great chance."
Kumble, whose first Test ton came in his 118th match and who now holds the record for the most Tests taken to score a hundred, added: "I thought maybe one day I'd get a Test hundred, but I never thought it would be this late.

"Zaheer Khan and Sree Santh supported me throughout. When I went back at tea and I was 60-odd, I jokingly said, 'I told you guys to get a hundred, it will just have to be me now'.
"It was important for us to get a huge score and take the game totally away from England. It's important now to back the score that we've got and get the other 19 wickets."
Wicket-keeper Mahendra Dhoni, who hit 92 from 81 balls, said India would have to work hard to secure a victory, despite taking a 640-run first innings lead into day three.
"We need to be patient because it's a flat wicket and there are good batsmen still to come," said Dhoni.
"My innings at Lord's [Dhoni scored 76 not out in the second innings] was equally important from a series point of view because it was the first game.

"It was bright and I took some time to adjust to the first 10-15 balls, but after that I could play my shots and that helped. And if I can think I can clear the field, I will go after them.
"It's easier for Indian batsmen because 80% of the bowlers we face in back at home are spinners, so we play them better than we do fast bowlers."
