England seamer Matthew Hoggard feels the match is evenly poised after the second day against the West Indies, despite the hosts' explosive start. Ryan Sidebottom took a wicket first ball as the Windies fell to 55-4 before tea in the fourth Test, but Dwayne Bravo and Shiv Chanderpaul fought back.
The Windies closed on 132-4 and Hoggard said: "We are reasonably happy.
"But we could have got two or three more wickets, and conceded 20-30 less runs too, so I guess honours are even."
The Windies' top order had little answer to the swinging ball early on in the damp conditions at Chester-le-Street as Hoggard, Sidebottom and Steve Harmison took the wickets in the only full session of the day before tea.
But Chanderpaul and Bravo dug in with an unbeaten stand of 77 and Hoggard said: "The weather's been around this week, with the wicket under cover, so it was nice to get a bowl early.
"But the ball seems to be going soft quite quickly and so, later in the day, it was not swinging quite as fast and the batsmen had a little more time to negotiate it.

"Fair play to those two, though, they dug in well. But we gave Chanderpaul a chance (he was dropped on nine) and he's not the sort you want to hand a life to.
"So we will start again on Sunday morning, probably looking to bowl a bit fuller, and hope to wrap up the next six wickets."
Windies all-rounder Bravo, meanwhile, targeted a total of 300-plus as they look to win some pride having already lost the four-match series.
"It was difficult up front against the swinging ball and we lost a few wickets, but Shiv and myself stuck it out well until the end," said Bravo.
"Shiv takes the pressure off you because, as a senior player and a steady player, he gives you the chance to play your game.
"Now we know we have to bat session by session and keep going. If we can get past the first hour in the morning, we hope to get in excess of 300 and then we'll see where that takes us."
