Nick Compton hit a superb unbeaten 152 to lead England A to 327-4 on day one against a Bangladesh Academy XI. The Middlesex batsman put on 85 with Will Jefferson (58) for the first wicket and an unbroken 162 with wicket-keeper Matt Prior (82no).
Compton hit 14 fours and two sixes from 230 balls but skipper Michael Yardy, Michael Carberry and Alex Loudon all failed to leave the score 165-4.
But Prior restored his team's dominance with 10 fours in a fine 106-ball knock.
Meanwhile, Kent paceman Amjad Khan has been sent home after arriving in Bangladesh with a swollen knee.
He and Ravi Bopara - who has been named in England's World Cup squad - will be replaced.
