Clark had both England openers caught early on in Adelaide |
Australia seamer Stuart Clark was delighted with his two-wicket haul, but admitted England shaded the opening day of the second Test after making 266-3. "It was a good day for me," said the 31-year-old, who ousted Andrew Strauss in his second over and also accounted for the other opener, Alastair Cook.
"The ball came out of my hand really well. I'm pleased personally but for the team I'd have liked a couple more.
"It was always going to be hard but we definitely feel we're still in it."
Clark, who took seven wickets in the first Test at Brisbane, bowled only 15 overs on the opening day in Adelaide.
"It's always disappointing not to bowl more," he admitted.
"You can't get them out when you're standing at fine-leg, and it's very boring down there sometimes.
"Ricky (Ponting) went down a different path and had some ideas in mind, but I'm sure I'll get my turn."
Clark was impressed with the unbroken century partnership between Paul Collingwood and Kevin Pietersen, which took England to 266-3 at the close.
"They batted very well, played to their strengths and kept us out so we didn't get a breakthrough. Another couple of wickets late in the day and we would have had a much better day."
