Marcus Trescothick can return to international cricket despite leaving the Ashes tour with a stress-related illness, says Richard Bevan. Bevan, chief executive of the Professional Cricketers' Association, told Five Live: "If he puts in the time, I'm sure he'll be back."
Despite admitting Trescothick is "at a low ebb", Bevan said the opener has not given up on playing for England.
"He is focused on the problem he's got and wants to play again," Bevan said.
"The great thing about Marcus' situation is that the public are in support of him, so are his employers, he's got a good medical team and if he puts in the time, I'm sure he'll be back."

Bevan has spoken to Trescothick since he flew home from the tour on Tuesday, and said: "Marcus is obviously at a low ebb and massively disappointed.
"He was feeling confident but suffered an acute stress reaction and it was obvious he needed to come back."
Trescothick suffered a recurrence of the illness that prematurely ended his winter tour of India.
The 30-year-old had a mixed summer on home soil, scoring a century in the first Test against Sri Lanka but struggling against Pakistan.
