 Pakistan claim Sunday's freak dismissal is not to blame |
Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq will either bat at seven or wait just over four hours before taking to the crease on the final day of the third Test. Inzamam missed most of the fourth day with chest pain. An X-ray showed no serious damage but he was diagnosed with inflammation of the rib joints.
Coach Bob Woolmer said the injury was not related to his freak dismissal on Sunday, when he fell over his stumps.
"He complained of pain in the right side of his chest," said Woolmer.
"He was not hit by a ball or hurt during his dismissal."
Off the field for the first hour of Monday's fourth day, Inzamam came on after the drinks break but did not lead his side out after lunch.
Inzamam usually bats at the fall of the third wicket, but he will have to wait for two more people to bat before appearing.
On the other hand, if Pakistan have only lost three wickets after four hours and 20 minutes, he can bat in his usual position.
