Sophia Gardens will be packed out for the NatWest Series opener

Sophia Gardens will play host to England for the first time in a full international match on 30 August.

"We're delighted to be confirming a sell-out almost three months ahead of the fixture," said Glamorgan chief executive Mike Fatkin.

"We predicted a huge demand for the game and this is great news for both Cardiff and Wales."

England take on Pakistan in the Welsh capital in the first of five NatWest Series matches, before playing at Lord's, the Rose Bowl, Trent Bridge and Edgbaston.

Sophia Gardens has played host to full international one-day matches before, as well as a Wales XI having played against England in three one-day warm-up matches prior to the NatWest Series in 2002, 2003 and 2004.

But this will be the first time that England have played a full international at Sophia Gardens.

Glamorgan's home has previously hosted Australia v Pakistan in 2001, Zimbabwe v South Africa in 2003, West Indies v New Zealand in 2004 and Australia v Bangladesh in 2005 - as well as staging the ICC Cricket World Cup match between Australia and New Zealand in 1999.
