Trescothick went home last month for personal reasons |
England have confirmed Marcus Trescothick will not rejoin their tour of India and have added four players to their one-day squad. "I'm naturally disappointed to be missing the tour of India," he said.
"It is my intention to play cricket for Somerset this summer and to make myself available for England selection."
Owais Shah, who was called up when Trescothick went home for personal reasons, is joined by Gareth Batty, Sajid Mahmood and Vikram Solanki.
As expected, captain Michael Vaughan (knee), spinner Ashley Giles (hip) and paceman Simon Jones (knee) will not return from injury.
Andrew Flintoff's captaincy will continue through the seven-match series, which begins in Delhi on 28 March and concludes two weeks later in Indore.
Batty, Mahmood and Solanki, currently in the Caribbean with England A, will arrive in Jaipur on 21 March, along with all-rounder Kabir Ali.
England Chairman of Selectors, David Graveney, said: "It's an excellent opportunity for each player to press for a regular place in the one-day side as we continue to build for next year's World Cup."
Matthew Hoggard, Monty Panesar, Shaun Udal and Alastair Cook will all return home to England after the Tests.
