Injury-prone Jones says staying positive is vital |
Glamorgan and England paceman Simon Jones says he hopes to be back in the nets by the end of the month. The 27-year-old has had an operation on the twisted left knee that cut short his tour of India and will start his rehab work next Monday.
"I'm not going to rush it, but I should be back in the nets in two-to-three weeks," Jones told BBC Sport Wales.
"I think I'll be right for the start of Glamorgan's season, but I have to be 100% before playing a game."
Jones was attempting to prove his recovery from the ankle problem that kept him out of England's series in Pakistan when the latest setback hit him.
The injury-prone Welshman missed more than a year after a horrendous injury to his right knee, suffered at the start of the 2002/3 Ashes tour.

And after becoming one of the heroes of the 2005 Ashes series he missed the last Test that summer at The Oval and has played no serious cricket since.
"I was enjoying myself in India and the injury was really disappointing," said Jones.
"I just caught my leg in a foothold and that caused the damage - these things happen and there's nothing you can do.
"I thought it was cartilage, but it was just fluid on the back of the knee which I had to get sorted out.
"It's important to stay as positive as you can to help the rehab, I've discussed that with [England physio] Dean Conway.
"It would be nice to be able to play against Sri Lanka and Pakistan for England this summer.
"Winning the home series would build the confidence before we go up against Australia again for the Ashes next winter."
