Marcus Trescothick insists England will battle all the way against Australia in a desperate bid to avoid defeat in the first Ashes Test at Lord's. The home side ended day three on 156-5 after being set a record 420 to win.
"There were obviously a few errors - we dropped a few catches - but we will keep fighting," said Trescothick.
"All the hard work we put in over time is not just going to go in one game. We can come back tomorrow and work hard again and for the rest of the series."
Leg-spinner Shane Warne once again proved England's nemesis, extracting sharp turn to take three wickets after tea - including that of Trescothick.
But the Somerset opener insists Warne does not have a hold over his side. "He's a class performer and a great bowler," he said. "So you just have to survive more than anything else, work hard and - if he bowls bad balls - try to score as many as you can.
"But we can combat him, definitely. We have done it in the past and we will do it somewhere in this series."
