Brett Lee believes he is back to his best after further pressing his case to return to the Australian Test team. Lee has not played a Test for 18 months but took 4-53 against Leicestershire and is a near certainty to face England in next week's first Test at Lord's.
"I think the ball is definitely coming out just as well for me as it was back in 1999," said the 28-year-old.
"I feel I have matured a lot more as a cricketer and I am bowling a lot more with my head."
Lee believes he has more in his armoury than just sheer pace these days.
He adapted well to an easy-paced Grace Road wicket, an unveiled a brilliant slower ball to dismiss fellow Aussie Chris Rogers.
"It was not the best of wickets to bowl on out there - it was quite slow," he added.
"That meant we all had to try to adjust, and for me it felt very good out there and very comfortable."
