Malik sees Test on an even keel

Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik, who devastated England's top order with three wickets in 17 balls on Tuesday, said the third Test was well poised.

He said: "England are 1-0 down in the series and took their chances, but since the wicket was soft early on, it helped me to turn the ball.

"There is no batsman in the world who doesn't give bowlers a chance."

Spinner Malik had England's top three batsmen all caught as they played a collection of ill-judged sweep shots.

Michael Vaughan, hitting against the spin, fell for 58 when picking out Mohammad Yousuf at backward square leg.

Ian Bell (4) top-edged to the same man and Marcus Trescothick (50) hit a catch to the wicket-keeper via his pad.

Malik, with figures of 3-58 from 14 overs in the course of the day, added: "We will try to bowl them out for another 20 to 25 runs tomorrow and try to put them under pressure.

"You have to win sessions in Test cricket and at the moment I think the game is nicely balanced."
