Marcus Trescothick said day two of the second Test against Pakistan was "pretty tough" for England but was pleased with the way they battled. Trescothick was out before the close as the tourists finished on 113-3 in reply to Pakistan's 462 in Faisalabad.
"We're disappointed to have lost a wicket at the end but we fought hard.
"We had to dig deep, we had a tough day yesterday, and we had to make sure we did the basics well and got the ball in the right place," the left-hander said.
"We had to try to bat as long as we could, pick up runs and get as many partnerships together as possible."

After losing the first match in Multan, England need to win to keep alive their chances of a seventh successive series triumph.
But Trescothick says they will have their work cut out on a docile track.
"The wicket is pretty slow and flat, there's not a great deal of life in it, and it's not easy to play too fluently," he explained.
"You just have to grind it out, dig away and pick up as many runs as you can. It's not a wicket where you score four or five an over."
