England paceman Simon Jones relished proving critic Geoffrey Boycott wrong by taking 4-47 in the final Test in South Africa. Former England batsman Boycott had claimed that "Jones doesn't look as though he's going to get people out".
Jones said: "It's nice to show people what you can do - he's doubted me through the last three or four Tests.
"It's nice to prove him wrong. He's the only one really who hasn't backed most of the boys up."
He added: "To be honest I think he just likes to be different and that sums him up.
"I think he forgets that he had bad days when he was playing - you try your best, give 100%, but sometimes it's not good enough."
Jones was left out of the England side for the fourth Test in favour of James Anderson.
But Anderson failed to impress, allowing Glamorgan strike bowler Jones to stamp his authority in the final Test at Centurion Park.

"It's gone well for me this game; I've really hit my straps, got up to 94mph and found my confidence," Jones added.
"The run-up wasn't too great but that will come."
South Africa trail 2-1 in the series and need a win in the weather-hit final Test just to claim a tie.
After the first day was lost to the thunderstorms that continue to plague the match, England skipper Michael Vaughan put the home side in to bat.
The green wicket did not prove quite as helpful as expected and South Africa had battled away to reach 222-6 when Jones began a spell that ripped through a strong tail.
First went the dangerous Mark Boucher, edging to Marcus Trescothick at slip, followed in quick time by Nicky Boje and Makhaya Ntini.
Bad light stopped play there, but Jones took just two balls to snare Andrew Hall on Sunday morning as South Africa subsided to a first innings score of 247 all out.
"I got 12 wickets in the West Indian tour and I've done 14 here, with another innings still to come," Jones said.
"It's just a great feeling to be back in the team, obviously Jimmy came in last Test and pretty unfortunate he didn't find his feet, but that's given me an opportunity here."
