McGrath ruled out of fourth Test
Glenn McGrath
It is the second Ashes Test match McGrath has missed
Key Australia bowler Glenn McGrath was forced out of the fourth Ashes Test against England with an elbow injury.

McGrath was experiencing pain and discomfort in his right elbow and failed a fitness test at Trent Bridge on Thursday morning.

He was replaced by Mike Kasprowicz in the starting line-up, which also included Test debutant Shaun Tait.

It is the second Ashes Test McGrath has missed this summer after an ankle injury ruled him out at Edgbaston.

Australia team physiotherapist Errol Alcott said McGrath's elbow would not have withstood a five-day Test match.

But he was hopeful the veteran bowler would be fully fit for the final Ashes Test, starting at The Oval on 8 September.

Alcott said: "Glenn is continuing to improve, but we don't feel he's ready to withstand the rigours of Test match cricket over five days."
