Jones eager for extra workload
Simon Jones
Glamorgan and England paceman Simon Jones says he is keen to take extra responsibility after seeing England fall to defeat in the third Test.

Jones has been used less than any of England's other front-line bowlers in the Tests, despite impressing many pundits with his form.

"I'm not entirely sure why I haven't been getting more overs, I hope to be used more," Jones told BBC Sport Wales.

"I'm happy with my rhythm, though people like Geoffrey Boycott doubt me."

Jones said that he had been less affected than England's other bowlers by the punishing tour schedule.

"It's been a challenging itinerary, especially for the fast bowlers, but the others have been used more than me so I haven't been too bad," said the 26-year-old.

"There are six days off now and that's the way it should be in Test cricket.

"It's not just the physical side, you're drained mentally after a game.

We'll have a chat when I get back to Wales to see what's happening, we need to talk before I put pen to paper
Simon Jones on his Glamorgan future
"The boys are absolutely gutted to have lost. South Africa played well with bat and ball, but we know we didn't bat well on a very good wicket.

"We just have to pick ourselves up and try to win the last two Tests."

Jones, who has one year left on his Glamorgan contract, was non-committal on his county future.

He has been vocal in his belief that the Welsh side are not using him enough in one-day cricket, and is thought to be a target for a number of English counties.

"I've been in close contact with [Glamorgan captain] Robert Croft and [chief executive] Mike Fatkin throughout the tour," he said.

"We'll have a chat when I get back to Wales to see what's happening.

"We need to talk before I put pen to paper."
