Marsh quits England selector role
Rod Marsh
Marsh took over as head of the ECB Academy in 2001

Rod Marsh has stepped down from the England selection panel for the remainder of the summer.

David Graveney, Geoff Miller and Duncan Fletcher will now pick the squads for the three-match NatWest Challenge against Australia and the Ashes Tests.

But Peter Moores, who will succeed Marsh as National Academy Director in September, will act as an advisor.

"The handover to Peter is where I want to focus my efforts for the remainder of my time with the ECB," said Marsh.

"I shall always be pleased to full support the selection panel and provide any input required.

"But given my move back to Australia, I think it is right that David, Geoff and Duncan take the lead with the England Ashes squad this summer."

Graveney said the selectors were "well advanced" in their thinking for the Ashes series and Marsh could now concentrate on helping Moores pick the Academy and A team squads for this winter.
