Flintoff suffered an ankle injury during the third Test |
Andrew Flintoff is expected to be fit for England's one-day international campaign despite suffering an ankle problem during the third Test. A Lancashire statement said he is being rested from Wednesday's C&G Trophy quarter-final as a precaution.
"Flintoff experienced pain in the posterior of his left ankle during the third Test match and underwent a X-Ray on Monday which was clear," it added.
England open the NatWest Series against New Zealand on 24 June.
They face the third side in the tournament, West Indies, three days later. Flintoff claimed four wickets and hit a first-innings half-century at Lord's as England completed a 3-0 Test series whitewash of the Black Caps.
The 26-year-old has appeared in 71 one-day matches for his country.
England squad: Michael Vaughan, James Anderson, Ian Blackwell, Paul Collingwood, Andrew Flintoff, Ashley Giles, Darren Gough, Stephen Harmison, Geraint Jones, Robert Key, Sajid Mahmood, Anthony McGrath, Andrew Strauss, Marcus Trescothick.
