Lloyd is now a hugely respected ICC match referee

Experts from around the world will meet in Lahore next week to discuss the development of cricket in Asia.

West Indies great Clive Lloyd will be among the guest speakers at the Asian Cricket Council's seminar which will host delegates from 25 countries.

International Cricket Council president Ehsan Mani and chief executive Malcolm Speed will also join the discussions.

An ACC spokesman said: "The seminar gives us an opportunity to share ideas for development of the game."

He added: "It will provide a platform for improved synchronization between Asia and global development program initiatives.

"Workshops will discuss Asia's specific development needs, global needs, cricket education, high-performance programs, development of umpires, grounds, pitches, physical fitness, media relations and cricket facilities."

Allahdad Noori, president of the Afghanistan Cricket Association, will attend the two-day seminar as special guest after the ACC and ICC gave the war-ravaged country affiliate membership a year ago.

The ICC development program, launched in 1997, has welcomed more than 30 new members.
