Taylor signed a three-year contract when he rejoined Yorkshire in 2007 |
Opener Chris Taylor has left Yorkshire by mutual consent to concentrate on his cricket coaching business. The 28-year-old had two spells at Headingley during his career, either side of a two-year stay at Derbyshire. But he did not play for Yorkshire at all last summer, with his last appearance coming in a Pro40 match against Derbyshire in August 2008. Taylor hit three first-class and two one-day centuries during his career, with a highest score of 121. He said: "I have had 10 thoroughly enjoyable seasons as a professional cricketer with both Yorkshire and Derbyshire. "Following my successful stint with Derbyshire I genuinely thought I could make a real impact back at Yorkshire. "However, I have been somewhat disappointed not to have played more first-team cricket. "That said, I do realise there are some very exciting young cricketers emerging at the club and, as such, it is unlikely I will get any first XI opportunities in 2010. "The last thing I want is to block the development of talented young cricketers making their way in the game."
