Yorkshire reveal Sheffield return
Yorkshire are to play two second XI matches in Sheffield this year.

On 17 July, the county's reserve team will play at Sheffield United Cricket Club, near to Bramall Lane, which was a home venue from 1863-1973.

Then the following day, a three-day 2nd XI match will take place at Abbeydale Park, which held Championship and one-day matches between 1973-1996.

"It's fantastic Yorkshire will be back where Yorkshire Cricket began," chief executive Stewart Regan enthused.

Sheffield City Council also expressed their delight with the club's return to the steel city.

"It is a great privilege that they have chosen to return to the city and we hope their presence in the summer will attract more people to Sheffield," said Councillor Robert MacDonald, Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, Culture and Planning.
