Yorkshire believe Rashid can develop into a top-class performer |
Yorkshire spin bowling prospect Adil Rashid hopes to be back to full fitness by the end of next month following a stress fracture in his back. The 18-year-old took 25 wickets in five Championship appearances last summer and is already being talked about as a potential England player of the future.
"I cannot wait for the new season to get under way.
"It has been very disappointing and frustrating, but I am over it now, and am eager to get started," he said.
"I thought I was suffering from only bruising when my back began to hurt, but then I had a scan, which revealed I was suffering from a stress fracture.
"I was absolutely gutted, because I had to turn down the invitation to go on the trip to India with England's emerging players in the autumn," Rashid told the club's official website.
"And then I could not be selected for the England Under-19 month-long tour of Malaysia, which begins in late January."
