Yorkshire's former director of cricket, David Byas, is still considering his future with the county. Byas was offered a different role as head of cricket development, when Chris Adams arrived earlier this week to take charge of the first team.
"He's still thinking about it and wants to consider the personal implications, but he has not dismissed it," chief executive Stewart Regan explained.
"Hopefully we can get him to stay with the club."
Following the appointment of Adams, Byas would have no direct involvement with the first team in the new position.
"There is still a huge cricket development job to be done," Regan added.
"David will have a massive role in bringing through the pipeline all the talent from schools and the Academy."
Byas, who led Yorkshire to the Championship in 2001 and later went on to play for Roses rivals Lancashire, endured a difficult summer which saw Yorkshire escape relegation in the Championship by drawing their final match.
