Worcestershire's overseas player Steve Magoffin is to extend his stay at New Road to cover the Twenty20 Cup. The Australian bowler was originally due to play for the county for the first half of the season, up to the beginning of the Twenty20 programme. Magoffin has now agreed to stay on for the night-time cup matches, and so will remain at New Road until early July. "His performances have been just what we require to complement our attack," said director of cricket Steve Rhodes. "Steve has settled in well since his arrival and I have no doubt his strengths will help our Twenty20 challenge this year." West Indian fast bowler Fidel Edwards will replace Magoffin for the remainder of the summer.
