Worcestershire have awarded a contract to all-rounder Daryl Mitchell, who recently made his first team debut. The 21-year-old, who came through the club's Academy, will now be on the staff until the end of next summer.
"This is something I have been working towards for 10 years," said Mitchell, who is currently part of the squad for the Twenty20 Cup.
"Being a local lad, I'm delighted to have signed with the club I've supported all my life."
Mitchell batted for over five hours for a half century in a Championship game against Leicestershire earlier this month.
"Daryl has stepped up his game significantly this season and proved against Leicestershire on an uneven surface that he is capable of playing at the top level," said coach Steve Rhodes.
