Trott hit 226 in England's win over Bangladesh at Lord's in May |
Warwickshire batsman Jonathan Trott says he is determined to prove a point after missing out on England's recent World Twenty20 success. Trott did not make the squad for the tournament in the West Indies but is keen to remain on the selectors' radar now he is back with the Bears. "Yeah of course it's disappointing not to be in the side," Trott told BBC WM. "It's my job to do better and score more runs and heavily for Warwickshire," he added. Trott has struggled with Warwickshire in the Twenty20 so far this summer with scores of 0 and 4 but returned to form with 42 from 34 balls in the Bears' abandoned match with Lancashire on Sunday. | It's very difficult. And with the England Lions squad to be announced ahead of their game with West Indies A at the end of June, Trott is keen to be involved. "I'd like to get the call-up for that, we'll see how we go," he said. Trott has recently returned to Edgbaston following England's Test series against Bangladesh in which he struck a double-century in the first test at Lord's and he admitted the domestic schedule takes some adjusting to. "It's very difficult. The guys can play a Twenty20 the one day and the next day start a four-day game. "I wasn't involved when that happened [with Warwickshire], it doesn't happen in international cricket and I'm not sure why it happens in county cricket. It's a weird one."
