England and Warwickshire star Ashley Giles says his wife is recovering from the brain tumour scare that forced him home from the Ashes tour in December. And the left-arm spinner said: "Thank you to everyone who has sent messages of support and encouragement.
"We have both been overwhelmed by the depth of feeling which has poured in from club members, supporters and well wishers everywhere."
Giles said the kind words had been "a source of great encouragement."
Admitting that there had been "some very difficult times", Giles, in a statement released through Warwickshire CCC, added: "Stine's recovery is continuing day by day.
"She shows amazing strength and resilience. We will be eternally grateful for the messages we have received.
"At the same time we would like to place on record our most sincere thanks to everyone who supported my benefit year in 2006.
"It was a wonderful opportunity and so many people helped make it a memorable year for the Giles family."
Giles, who played in the first two Ashes Tests with limited success following a year sidelined by injury, has been named in England's provisional 30-man World Cup squad.
