Warwickshire pace bowler Naqaash Tahir will miss the start of the season as he recovers from a back injury. But the Bears are confident if his rehabilitation goes well he will be available for selection early in June.
"This is a huge disappointment for Naqaash and us," said fitness and conditioning coach Simon Hollyhead.
"But the injury is not as severe as first feared. We will do our upmost to manage the injury and get him fully fit as soon as possible."
Tahir made his first-class debut in 2004, and took 26 wickets as the Bears claimed the County Championship.
