Harbhajan has had two spells at Surrey since 2005 |
Surrey have announced that Harbhajan Singh will not be joining the club due to his international commitments. The Indian off-spinner has been in talks with the county, but had to turn down the opportunity because of his engagements with the national team. Surrey managing director of Surrey Gus Mackay said: "Following this decision, we began the search for a replacement." But he denied a deal had already been done to bring Pakistan's left-arm seamer Sohail Tanvir to the county. Mackay confirmed that the bowler was one of several players in discussions over a short-term deal. However, he said: "Despite reports in the Pakistani media, a deal has yet to be concluded."
