Aussie paceman lands Surrey deal
Matt Nicholson
Nicholson has over 300 first-class wickets and played a Test in 1998
Surrey have signed Australian pace bowler Matt Nicholson as their second overseas player for next summer.

Nicholson, who took 46 Championship wickets for Northants during the 2006 season, will join Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood at The Oval.

"Matthew will bring that added fire to our pace attack that we will certainly need moving into Division One.

"I'm really looking forward to working with him," Surrey cricket manager Alan Butcher commented.

Mahmood, meanwhile, will be returning for his sixth season with the club.

"I am extremely pleased to have Azhar on board again who has been an excellent servant for us.

"His ability with both bat and ball is unquestioned and gives us great flexibility in selection," said Butcher.
