Salisbury remains a prolific wicket-take at county level |
Surrey have awarded former England leg-spinner Ian Salisbury a benefit year in 2007. The 36-year-old has been on the staff since moving to The Oval from Sussex nine years ago.
He is the club's leading Championship wicket-taker this summer with 50 so far and has claimed 833 first-class victims during his career.
"I have been lucky to play with some extremely talented cricketers," said Salisbury, who won 15 Test caps.
"It's a huge honour to be awarded with a benefit in my tenth year with the club."
Surrey chief executive Paul Sheldon described Salisbury as a "huge asset both on and off the field".
He added: "He played a vital role in the success of the three-time Championship winning side (1999, 2000, 2002) and continues to perform for the club at the highest level."
