The Brit Oval will host the Finals Day of next summer's Twenty20 Cup. The climax of the competition will take place on 30 July with Trent Bridge and Edgbaston having staged the 2003 and 2004 finals.
Surrey have played in both Twenty20 Cup finals to date, winning the trophy in 2003 and finishing as runners-up to Leicestershire this year.
The England and Wales Cricket Board said Surrey had an "excellent reputation" for staging major matches.
The Oval staged the final of ICC Champions Trophy in September in which West Indies snatched victory from England in a thrilling climax to the tournament.
And as well as the Twenty20 finals day, it will also two one-day internationals and the final Ashes Test between England and Australia next summer.
The format of the competition, meanwhile, is to be changed with each county playing eight games in the group stage, three more than last year.
"We decided to expand the competition modestly for next year and this reflects the growing interest in this format of the game with attendances up by 12% from 2003 to 2004 despite some indifferent weather this summer," said ECB chairman David Morgan.
