The loss of Saqlain adds to Surrey's early season problems |
Surrey have confirmed that Pakistani spin bowler Saqlain Mushtaq will be out of action for at least a month because of an injury to his left knee. A club spokesman told BBC Sport they were looking to sign an overseas replacement on a short-term contract.
Saqlain suffered the injury during last week's Championship game against Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
A scan has revealed bruising in the knee and he will undergo further tests after resting for four weeks.
Surrey have drawn up a list of potential replacements, believed to include India's Harbhajan Singh, although not all of them are spin bowlers.
The club has yet to win a game this summer under new captain Jon Batty and coach Steve Rixon.
