Caddick all set for new campaign

Somerset fast bowler Andy Caddick has set his sights on being fitter than ever for the new county season.

The 40-year-old former England international has just returned to the indoor nets in Taunton ahead of the new campaign, which starts in April.

He was injured in the opening match of last summer and suffered from poor form on his return to the team.

"Things seem to be going well and I've not suffered any after effects which is good news," he told the club's website.

"I shall carry on bowling indoors for a few days, before going out to Dubai where I will be playing in two charity games for the Lords Taverners.

"Out in Dubai the weather will be much warmer. I'll get the chance to not only practice, but also bowl in a match situation outside on grass, which is something I'm really looking forward to."

Somerset, who missed out on a first County Championship title in the final round of matches last season, start their campaign at home to Warwickshire on Wednesday 15 April.
