Turner to get some Lillee advice

Somerset's Mark Turner will be coached by Australian legend Dennis Lillee this winter as part of the England young fast bowlers programme.

The 23-year-old, who took six Pro40 wickets this summer and nine in the Twenty20, goes to Florida in November.

He then goes to work with bowling coach Kevin Shine at the England Academy at Loughborough for two weeks in January.

"Part of the scheme involves going out to Chennai in early February to work with Dennis Lillee," revealed Turner.

"I had planned to go to Perth this winter to play for Justin Langer's club," he told the Somerset CCC website.

"But I got a phone call from Kevin Shine to say that he was keen for me to be with the ECB this winter working under their fast bowling scheme."

Somerset director of cricket Brian Rose said: "This is a great thing for both Mark and also for Somerset cricket and it will be pretty exciting for him."
