Dougie Lockhart hit an unbeaten half-century as Scotland sealed an eight-wicket victory over Kenya in the ICC Intercontinental Cup in Nairobi.

Scotland were chasing 110 after bowling out Kenya for 323, with Dewald Nel ending Maurice Ouma's 130.

Kenya's poor first-innings total of 91 gave Scotland a very achievable target.

The win puts Scotland six points ahead of Afghanistan at the top of the table ahead of next month's World Twenty20 qualifiers in the United Arab Emirates.

Scotland will now remain in Kenya for a one-day series with their hosts and Uganda before a revamped squad takes part in the World Twenty20 qualifiers.

Kyle Coetzer and Lockhart had made inroads before the Durham batsman was caught out by Ouma for 34.

Qasim Sheikh failed to add to his first-innings century when he was run out for a duck, but Lockhart reached 51 and Ewen Chalmers struck four boundaries from 29 balls to wrap up the victory in the thirty-third over.

Earlier, on day three, Ouma hit a century for Kenya, but Scotland remained favourites to seal victory on day four.

Kenya were 185 behind for the loss of one second innings wicket at the start of day three to reach 288 for seven.

Ouma scored 106 in 158 balls, including 19 fours and a six, to narrow the advantage.

At 262 for five, Kyle Coetzer gave Scotland the edge, taking two late wickets to go 73 ahead with three wickets remaining.

Nel had earlier added Rakep Patel and Hiren Variya to his solitary overnight wicket and Majid Haq picked up two for 39.
